The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme, functioning under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India for developing student’s personality through community service. It has been launched during the Gandhi Centenary Year on September 24, 1969, and is a unique platform for educational institutions to address the needs of the community and create awareness among the students about the realities of life, by providing a better understanding and appreciation of the problems of the people.

The NSS unit of K.G. College is a group of dedicated volunteers who are induced to channelize their skills and enthusiasm towards the benefit of the society. The college has at present two NSS units with 200 registered volunteers. Even during the Covid pandemic situation, in order to cater the multidimensional development of students, multitude of activities were conducted by our units, both in online and offline mode ensuring participation of all volunteers. During the year 2020-21, many of the programmes including the seven day camp were organised in the online mode.
