DEPARTMENT OF MALAYALAM
The department of Malayalam started functioning simultaneously with the establishment of the college in 1981. Our academic options are limited to second language teaching alone like Hindi Department. The following faculty members served the department from 1981 to till date: Prof. S. Mohanan, Prof. P.C. Prabhullachandran Pillai, Dr. A. M. Unnikrishnan, Dr. Maloor Muraleedharan, Dr. Sherly Kurian, Dr. C Jayasree
Dr. Alice and Dr. V.A. Philip served this department on leave vacancies. At present, Dr. Shyla Abraham is in-charge of the Department.
The Department of Malayalam conducts terminal examinations for the internal assessment and the results of the examinations are intimated to the parents. Even though the students of K.G. College are hailing from economically poor background, the department maintained 100% results in every academic year. At the end of every academic year, the department collects student’s feedback and find solutions accordingly. At times, students are given opportunities to express their views on current topics so that they become aware of the recent issues and get rid of their stage fright.
