Food Science and Quality Control

The Department of Food Science and Quality Control started up in the year 2021. The Department put forward an aided undergraduate programme in B.Sc FS & QC, which is a multidisciplinary course involving Chemistry, Zoology, Entrepreneurship, Food Engineering, Nutrition and Microbiology. As part of academics, One-month Industrial training is conducted for the first- and second-year batch, making them familiarize with the latest technological advances in the food processing industries. FS & QC is purely a job-oriented course, with a vast opportunity such as Quality Controller, Food Chemist, Production Supervisor, Food Technologist etc.

The Department has signed a Collaboration with the Signature Solutions Peruthalmanna, Kerala for conducting HABC Highfield certified HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) training Level ІІІ for Food Manufacturing (RQF). The Department has organized 5 Days Training Programme at Dairy Training Center. The students had acquired practical skills in processing of dairy products and chemical analysis of milk. Every year Food Science Association “Calisto” coordinated a splendid Food Fest “Savourants” which serves quality and delicious food. The Department work towards the upliftment of student’s knowledge and practical skill in the field of food science.
